To promote our new listing on 39 Dutch Valley Ln (http://39dutchvalley.com/), I thought a brief history would be helpful to all those who care about how this beautiful pocket of San Anselmo came to be:

- 1850s: A gentleman named Harvey Butterfield leased this land from a Mexican soldier from the Presidio of SF. Harvey started a dairy farm at the end of what is now known as Butterfield Rd.

- Late 1800s: The land eventually landed in the hands of the rich SF Hotaling Family, who built a lavish mansion at the end of Butterfield and named the community "Sleepy Hollow". The Hotalings were close friends with the author of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" author, Washington Irving.

- 1930s: Chicago businessman built the only "Play as you Go" 18 hole…

Ahhh Tiburon. Every time I come to this town it looks more picturesque. I also see more and more early 30’s men in sweatpants walking their dog at 2:00 PM. Does that make any sense? I feel the urge to pull over and interview these guys: “How are you able to do nothing in the middle of the day at your age?” “Is it possible to take your Tesla for a spin?” “What kind of sweatpants are those?”

Anyway, I digress. Here is my new inventory ranking for one of the most expensive markets this country will ever see:

  1. 28 Teaberry Ln - 5 BD/6 BA - Just awesome. Everything you want out of a newly constructed mansion with views of the Bay. $8,500,000.

  2. 180 Gilmartin Dr - 4 BD/3 BA - Interesting angles in the architecture. Picture lots of big,…

A flat backyard is one of the most valuable assets in the Marin County residential market. Because there are so many hillside properties, only a fraction of today’s buyers can enjoy these delightful, yet rarely seen flat yard spaces. However, the Narodny Team new listing at 122 Chula Vista, San Rafael (http://www.122chulavistadrive.com/) has a beautifully landscaped and fenced yard without the expensive price tag. Featured in the video are just some of the potential activities to enjoy in this space:

- Sprints - It’s great to get the heart rate up, especially after a long day. The ultimate stress reducer.
- Lunges - who skips leg day when you have a fancy yard like this?
- Picnic - a…

We are spoiled in Marin County. It felt like April driving around looking at new houses today in Southern Marin. The sun was shining, birds chirping, laughter. Once again, Mill Valley did not disappoint with warm, yet brisk weather. Perfect Patagonia vest weather for the Mill Valley locals.

Enough silliness. Here are my rankings for the new Mill Valley inventory:

  1. 8 East Dr - 3 BD/1 BA - The quintessential Boyle Park home. Extremely charming, well updated, and accessible from any popular Mill Valley hangout (including tennis courts in your front yard). The downside? Very limited parking. $1,395,000.

  1. 28 Bay Vista - 4 BD/3 BA - The views alone are worth a million bucks. Add to that a very spacious, tasteful, and…

There are many reasons a person might decide to move after the loss of a loved one. Maybe your loved one passed away in your home. Maybe the memories there are too painful to bear. Moving with children

If children are involved, it makes matters a little more complicated. If your move is happening during the school year, that can make it even trickier. But…
